Cleaning Product Package Design

This is the second part of a two-part assignment in a Visual Communications III class. The first part required me to select an artist mentor and rebrand them in a new way. I created a new style guide, which is what was used for the second half of the assignment. I used inspiration from psychedelic-pop artist Steven Harrington and created a retro-style brand called "Club Mello" (after his beloved dog character). In this project i learned about designing for different types and shapes of packaging, and about applying style guides to projects. All of the assets for this project were created in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

This product is an eco-friendly liquid hand soap refill made by the brand “Club Mello”. I thought it would be fun to use a milk carton-style packaging to make the product look interesting and give the product the ability to be recycled. The concept of the product being a refill suggests that consumers would buy a dispenser for the soap and buy refills to replenish it rather than buying a new dispenser every time, therefore eliminating waste. I decided to play into the eco-friendly concept by highlighting that the product is made up of all natural ingredients.
